This 20-Activity series provides supplemental learning for each school day of the month of February 2023. The great repair is all about the United States of America paying restitution to the ADOS for the institution of slavery. This well-known practice is called paying reparations.
The United States of America has paid reparations to several nations to repair the harm that it has caused, but it has never paid reparations to the black descendants of slaves.
The USA continues to pay reparations to the American Indians for theft of land. The USA has paid reparations to the Japanese for holding them in internment camps during World War Two (WWII). The USA gives annually to the state of Israel even though never attacking Israel.
H.R. 40, is a bill that has been proposed every year for decades in the House of Congress. This bill calls for a national study to determine the effects of slavery. It is called the reparations bill and has not gained enough support in congress to become law.
Recently, the United Nations issued a report finding the U. S. in violation of human rights and determined African Americans are due reparations. Today, many cities have began passing their own laws to study the affects of slavery and propose what type of repair is due.
The federal government remains silent.
